Everyone should have spare bedding in case they have company come to spend the night. Those lucky enough to have an extra bedroom can buy the bedding and decorate it to suit their taste, the princess bed they never had as a child or French beds for a more formal look. People without a spare room will have to choose one of the many other options available to them.
There are two different styles of beds that are couches; the single divan bed is the couch without an arm that is meant to be used as a bed at night. This requires no extra space or work to get ready, except for applying the sheets, blankets and pillows, but it only sleeps one person. The double divan bed folds out from the couch and sleeps two people. This can be made up and ready for company ahead of time, but you have to make sure you have enough space for the mattress and frame to fold out.
A folding bed can be a camp cot or a commercial grade one that folds in half when not in use for storage. The camp cot folds pretty flat, but the commercial grade one takes up quite a bit of storage room. A ready bed is a blow up bed and usually comes with all the sheets and blankets you need. There are other blow up beds that are extremely comfortable and some are almost as tall as a real bed. Both of these two blow up beds fold down to a small size for storage.
It is best to plan ahead if you have moved away from friends and family because sooner or later you will get overnight company. Take a good look at who would come to spend the night and see what type of bedding would work for them. There are lots of options available, so measure your space, figure your budget, and start shopping.
