Im not sure about the rest of the people reading this, or writing about this topic but as of late the MTV reality shows, have really gotten to me. For some reason I feel like its the same nonsense, jumbled together over and over again. For instance the revelation of the jersey shore guido seems to have gotten fans in an uproar, and they do not seem to be letting up any time soon.
What seems to be the obsession, with reality shows these days? I know that the first show I ever began to watching that may have been considered a reality show, was the apprentice and even that has become annoying, depending on the people that they bring on the show. Though when it comes to the jersey shore in particular I’m not sure if MTv hit the nail on the head that they thought they did.
Just last week when the jersey shore dvds were set to be released, an onslaught of lawsuits and other such up roaring activities took place in hopes of blocking the release. In reality the dvd dropped and I’m sure it sold millions of copies, considering the craze with it all, but is it all worth it? It seems that the people who are most often featured on such shows and trashy, and simply looking for attention.
Call me crazy, but it would appear that we are making the switch towards this time of television for the long term and it makes me a bit worried. I would much rather see something civilized, respectable, and intelligent take place on my television than a bunch of twenty somethings parading around, looking for all the attention they can get. Were they never hugged by their parents or something, hopefully somebody will hug them at some point in the near future.
