Until recently, cosmetic enhancement procedures such as lipolysis and liposuction surgeries to improve the shape and contours of a person’s body have long been associated with women. But recent surveys and statistical evidence has shown that there is an increasing trend where men are becoming more frequent patients in the surgeon’s office and more than ever before. With that in mind, it is not a stretch to expect men to become a growing demographic for the liposuction industry.
There are some differences between male and female lipolysis patients. One such procedural difference is that male patients are more often treated with laser liposuction than traditional methods because of the type of treatments they request. There are some very predictable areas of the body where men will want liposuction as opposed to women patients who typically will request liposuction to just about any part of the body. Men often want treatment performed in areas where fat is particularly hard to lose while muscular areas like the arms and shoulders are almost never requested by a male patient.
For these differences, male lipolysis will almost always be more expensive than female procedures. Not only do men request laser lipo or laser lipolysis in particular parts of the body, the fat cells in those areas are often where the toughest, most fibrous fat cells tend to reside such as the chest, abdomen or back. In addition to that, the fat cells in male bodies in general tend to be more fibrous so a comparable procedure to a female patient will require more time and effort to fully remove the fat. As a whole, men are often larger than their female counter parts making treatment more labor intensive just by the mere fact that they have larger bodies and the areas of their bodies are larger. These factors make it more expensive for a man than for a woman to receive the same treatment.
