2 Healthy Fruit Juicer Recipes and Their Benefits

Here are two healthy (and tasty!) juicer recipes that you can make at home with your juice extractor. Included are just some of the great health benefits these juices can provide

Recipe #1 – Tropical Fun
1/2 a medium sized mango
1 cup of pineapple flesh
2 kiwi fruit

One of the great benefits of these tropical juicer recipes is that they are very high in vitamin C content. Mango, pineapple and kiwi are all fruits that are an exceptional source of vitamin C. There are many essential functions of vitamin C and one of its most important functions is boosting the immune system. Vitamin C is a key nutrient in our defense against foreign invaders and especially against viruses like colds and flu.

Beside its high vitamin C content, pineapple also contains a natural digestive enzyme called bromelain that breaks down protein into amino acids. Bromelain is so effective at this that it is used in meat tenderizing products to break down tough fibers and is also sold as a digestive aid supplement. Some people with a weak digestive system have taken up drinking pineapple juice everyday to aid them.

Recipe #2 – Heart Healthy Juice
2 apples
4 large carrots

This juice is exceptionally good for heart health. Carrots are one of natures absolute best sources of potent antioxidants called carotenes. These carotenes are excellent anti-cancer compounds and also powerful at helping to protect us from heart disease. Large population studies always show that those who have the most carotenes in their diet are considerably less likely to suffer a heart attack or stroke than those with the least carotene rich foods in their diet.

Drinking cloudy apple juice, which is apple juice made from apples that were juiced with their skins on, on a regular basis is one the best natural cures for lowering LDL ‘bad’ cholesterol levels. Several studies have all shown that drinking cloudy apple juice can significantly lower LDL cholesterol levels compared with clear apple juice, which is apple juice made from apples that have been peeled first. The reason is that apple skins are a great source of a soluble form of fiber called pectin. Pectin binds with LDL cholesterol in the intestines and removes it from the body before it has a chance to be absorbed into the blood stream to contribute to high LDL cholesterol levels.
