Celluvisc eye drops|Refresh Celluvisc Lubricant Eye Drops

Celluvisc eye drops contain carmellose sodium, an active ingredient which functions as an eye lubricant. This eye product is used in the treatment of dry eye – a condition characterized by dryness, soreness and irritation of the eye. Dry eye results when the eye does not produce an adequate amount of tears and the eye subsequently becomes dry.

These eye drops are purchasable in single-dose vials possessing a seal which simply twists off. The product should not be used if the seal is pieced or broken in any way.

The active ingredient contained with this eye product is a man-made polymer which forms an eye gel which is viscous in nature.  It produces a moistening film which is transparent and lubricating in nature. This film clings to the eye’s surface and is akin to tears. It is not washed from the eye as rapidly as other lubricating eye solutions.

Before applying the product to your eyes, wash your hands. Refrain from touching the open end of the vial with your hands and do not let it touch any other surfaces. This will prevent the introduction of germs into your eyes. One vial should prove adequate for the treatment of both eyes. The vial should be discarded after use, even if a small amount of the solution remains in the vial.

If you wear contact lenses, you should remove them before applying the 1% Celluvisc drops. Once you have applied the product, you should wait 15 minutes before putting them back in. The 0.5% Celluvisc drops do not require contact lens removal.

Following the application of the solution, vision may be moderately blurred. You may also experience temporary burning or stinging which will ease within 15 minutes. You are not advised to drive or control machinery if you experience temporarily impaired vision.

Celluvisc eye drops will provide the lubrication required to treat your dry eyes.
